P.02 – MOSS & Co.02 | The Logo and Identity – Case Study
This is a series of posts of Case Studies on process and product of different projects. To read more of these, check Case Studies. Project.02 focus on a loungewear’ brand.
When thinking about the brand, we set to define the inspirational mood board in order to create the logo and brand identity.
Sketches and logo studies
During the process, and after defining the inspirational mood board, I started making some sketches of calligraphical styles that would go on the direction I intended the brand to have.
The first sketches laid for a long time on my desk, trying to find their way into the brand logo. I decided to try again, some weeks later.
Second logo ideas and versions
A second approach used was searching for a classic serif font, combine it with a minimalistic font for the brand signature and use an illustration of the cotton flower, to bring the idea of one of the parts of the brand name.
Considering these ideas, I designed two logos and asked around about 30 friends of mine – both women and men – which of the two they felt would be more appealing to a loungewear brand.
So, after the chosen logo, I started developing the stationery kit for the final logo.
MOSS & CO. Identity
The stationary is developed in the contrast between pale pink and white, and mustard yellow, working with alternatives in the Moss Green.
For this playful, cheerful brand, I used a feminine stationery vibe as well as a graphic print imprint. More about this when I talk about the packaging.
Coming up: The Collection Range
Why am I doing this? I am someone who loves a motivational challenge, and while I love to tackle other people’s challenges, I wanted to come up with a different set of rules for a challenge of my own in my fields of professional action, so I can learn with the process too.
